St. Louis Rams

Every time I'm on my computer my dad asks if I am posting on my blog about the Rams. He then proceeds to tell me how everyone wants to read about the Rams and that my blog will be much more popular if I write about them. Now you and I both know that writing about the Rams might actually decrease my blogs popularity, especially this season. However, Slim makes a lot of sacrifices for me so I can make one for him. Here is everything I know about the Rams.
  1. Their colors are blue and gold.
  2. Their home town is St. Louis, Missouri.
  3. They used to be the Los Angeles Rams until 1995. (I think I even know the year! Slim will be so proud!)

  4. The sport they participate in is football.
  5. They used to have a player with the last name Warner. Which is how Slim became Slim Warner.

  6. They now have a player named Torry Holt. The position he plays is unknown to me but Scooter has a Torry Holt jersey. I think his number is 81.

  7. Their mascot is the Ram. :)

  8. Their record this year is 3-12. They are struggling. This shows what a dedicated and loyal fan my father is. They have only won 3 games and yet he still wears his Rams jersey every Sunday for the games. He tivo's every game and if you accidentally delete the game before he has watched it you will be shunned. I know this one from experience. He travels to various locations around the United States to support his team and he convinces his anti-football daughter to blog about them. I love all of those things about him!

That is really all I know, however that is 8 facts. That is 8 more than I know about any other football team! This is my gift/sacrifice for my father. I will never post about football again. I promise.

Best of 2007

I got an e-mail from a friend that had her personal best of lists for 2007 and I was inspired. This year for me has been one of obsessions. I always seem to get obsessed with random things but this year I feel like I was more passionate about my obsessions than ever. This will explain a few of them.

Lindsi Marie's Best of 2007 List

Movies:
  • High School Musical 2- Shocker
  • Ratatouille
  • Hairspray
  • The Ultimate Gift

TV Shows:

  • The Office-It's okay with me if the Hollywood Writer's Strike continues but please at least make a deal with the writer's of The Office. I'm dying here.
  • Chuck- I seriously want to marry a man just like him. Nerdy but so dang cute.
  • So You Think You Can Dance- I'm so happy Sabra won!
  • Private Practice

Music: The CD's and songs I listened to a lot
CD's:

  • Rascal Flatts "Still Feels Good"-They never disappoint me!
  • Joshua Radin "We Were Here"- This man's voice is so sexy and I don't say sexy very often. The best song on the CD is Someone Else's Life.
  • Hairspray Soundtrack- A lot of dancing has happened to this music, usually by myself. :)
  • Colbie Caillat "Coco"
  • High School Musical 2 Soundtrack- Duh. I need help.

Please notice that there is only one country album listed above. It has been a weird year for me.
Songs:

  • All We Are by Matt Nathanson
  • Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer
  • The Fear You Won't Fall by Joshua Radin
  • Teardrops On My Guitar by Taylor Swift
  • The Way I Are by Timbaland
  • Love Song by Sara Bareilles

Books:

  • Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse by Stephanie Meyers- It's true, I'm that trendy.
  • Counting Stars by Michele Paige Holmes- Super cheesy LDS fiction, gotta love it.
  • No One Can Take Your Place by Sheri Dew- If you are wondering if you are doing the right things with your life or headed in the right direction this book will inspire you to know.

News and Milestones:

  • I completed my first year teaching!
  • This was my personal year of sickness. I struggled with my health for a while and I believe I came out on top! Thank goodness for prayer, family, and friends to help and support me.
  • I moved out of Utah County, all the way to West Jordan(lame)!
  • I started to teaching in Sandy and switched from teaching second to first grade.
  • My nephew Collin Ryan "Scooter" Sullivan turned one and my whole family is obsessed with him. Scooter said his first real big word today. It is turtle (durdle). Cute.
  • Katie graduated from High School and is kicking butt as a freshman at UVSC. She does everything. She is a part of the Black Box Theater Company, PLP (leadership something or other), working, full time school, multiple plays and productions, and other freshman like things.
  • Ryan and Jac started a company called The IT Phactor. IT stands for Information Technology. He does all sort of computer jazz. You can check out his website at http://theitphactor.com/company.html
  • My Mom and Dad started an add-on to the house. They are in the middle of the process right now and they are excited for it to be finished! So we can enjoy it and to be rid of the mess.
  • DJ is still doing his thing at BYU. He did fantastically at school and worked super hard with the lacrosse team. Things are looking good this year for lots of playing time for lacrosse.

That last section ended up turning into a Christmas Newsletter type situation. Sorry about that. It has been a really good year but I am also happy to say that it is over! I am one super blessed girl!

Igloo Videos

These are some videos that show our hard work and dedication to the making of our igloo. The best part about these videos is my Mom thought she was taking pictures. We therefore had no idea she was filming us. Silly Toni.

How to Build an Igloo

You may be under the impression that you know how to build an igloo but you're wrong. I'm not trying to be harsh or anything but I can't lie to you about it. I thought I knew too but it turns out it's a lot trickier than I thought. I now realize that I could never be an Eskimo and I admire their hard work and dedication.

Here are the steps for making an amazing igloo:
  • Step 1: Wait for a solid snow storm. This storm came for me two Sundays ago. The snow was perfect packing snow and just the right wetness.
  • Step 2: Recruit workers. It took a lot of persuading and bribing but I was able to talk Slim and Donna into participating in the work project.
  • Step 3: Acquire the appropriate equipment. We needed something to mold the snow bricks into rectangles to create authenticity regarding our igloo. We used shoe boxes that we lined with tin foil. That was Slim's genius idea!
  • Step 4: Assemble appropriate snow attire. For me that included my sweet 1992 Utah Jazz snow coat, pink and grey snow hat from the 80's, and my dad's snow pants (they were a little big). I look good.
  • Step 5: Create the base of the igloo by stacking the snow bricks until they are 5 rows tall. This takes a lot of patience and you must be good at negotiating with your workers to keep them on the project. I promised treats, unlimited compliments, and I let them hit me with snowballs. They're easy.
  • Step 6: When the base is built you throw some boards on top. You may not have heard of this technique before, however, it's normal protocol in igloo making. Trust me.
  • Step 7: Get out the riding law mower with the snow blade attachment and scoop all the snow on the grass into a large pile. My greatest regret in life is not having a picture of Slim doing this. It was awesome!

  • Step 8: Carefully place the snow on top of the boards and smooth it out. Round the snow into a smooth dome shaped mound.
  • Step 9: Step back and take a moment to admire your fantastic work!
Here are a few more pictures just in case you weren't able to get the full visual from the steps. It sounds like a lot of work but it is worth it in the end. :)
Disclaimer: Our igloo fell apart about 3 hours later. I know what a huge disappointment this is. I had to wait until the end to tell you. Otherwise you wouldn't have read on; I know I wouldn't have.

I love Costco!

Costco really is like paradise to me. Items in bulk bring a smile to my face. For the A Plus Home Care and Hospice (my parents company) work party we went to Costco. Before you wrinkle your nose or decide that doesn't seem cool let me just elaborate on the greatness of a Costco holiday party. We arrived after hours and were treated to some delicious costco bakery dinner choices, cakes, and other goodies. We then recieved gift cards as part of our bonus and were let loose. It felt like in the movies when someone gets locked in the walmart after hours and goes to town. I felt free to explore and enjoy the Costco with nobody judging or rushing me. I usually feel very judged by the fellow shoppers. I'm random and that scares some people. We wandered around, ate our items before purchasing, had cart races, made up some sweet dance moves with the cart, tried on robes and other important clothing items, etc. Normal shopping stuff. :) As we shopped they had various games and activities in which you could win more gift cards. Chris Nelson came with me and his crazy hip swinging hula hoop skills beat all the females and won us $10.00! I did pretty well at the football throw and was able to add $5.00 to that. We participated in the cake walk for some of the bakery goodness however we failed at that. We came up empty handed. We were able to do Karaoke singing to the fellow A Plus employees and let's just say we brought them to tears (of joy, duh). It was a blast and I had a little heart expandage toward Costco. I didn't know I could love it more but I do.

I haven't seen any of my former co-workers in a long time and Chris and I decided it would be a good idea to play a trick on them. All it took was my sister-in-laws wedding ring on the appropriate finger, some fake flirting, and lots of body language. We had them hooked. The gossip mill was faster than I expected and my parents and siblings were dodging questions from all over the place. It was hilarious! The funniest part was that nobody asked Chris or I about it. They just stared at my finger the whole time they talked to me and then went and asked other people. I guess it isn't believable that I could be engaged. Sad day. Anyways, I have some pretty good engagement photos that we took that night. They aren't awkward at all. :) Which one do you think we should put on our announcement?

Gazing into eachothers eyes. I'm not a very good gazer.

Face shot. You might think I have food on my face but no. That is a Christopher Nelson original teardrop design. Don't be jealous.

My hand is strategically placed on his chest to show my bling.

My favorite shot. The word "frolic" keeps coming to mind.
The best event of the night however is what I was able to purchase while there. Two items that have completley changed my outlook on and way of life. The first is a Costco membership. I had never been to a Costco alone because I didn't have a membership. Since I got mine own card just 10 days ago, I have been twice. All by myself!!! I have already spent way too much time and money at that store but each time I left with a grand smile upon my face. The second life-changing purchase made that night was the 80 gb ipod. I have always thought I was above ipod's. That I didn't need one and that they were just a trendy cd player. Well, I decided to break down and try it out. How did I live without one for so long? It is wonderful and my new constant companion! I'm now a proud ipod addict.

In conclusion, the Costco party was a huge success. I got to enjoy my favorite store when it was practically empty, fake an engagement, purchase lifechanging items, and have an enjoyable Saturday evening out. I couldn't ask for more.

Super Random Video

This is a video of my nephew Collin Ryan "Scooter" Sullivan playing the piano. I watched it today and realized there are some funny things about it.

  1. I filmed it sideways. Why? I have no idea. I'm weird like that. I probably thought I was filming the correct way. Sad day.

  2. My nephew is freakin' adorable and a fairly decent piano player for a one year old.

  3. The commentary from my father and myself in the background. That is a typical conversation for my father and I. I didn't realize how pointless our conversations can be until I listened to it replayed.

I've always wanted to try posting a video clip. It was either this or one I would tape of myself in my room dressed up in goofy clothing singing and rapping my latest song creation (My song writing ability really is a gift). Cool video tapable things don't really happen to me that often. Humor me.

John Krasinski

I know many of you will agree that the television show "The Office" is the greatest thing to happen to primetime t.v. There are no words that can adequately describe my passion for this show. While I was in San Fransisco last weekend I looked out the window of our car and saw this advertisement on a huge bus. It honestly was the greatest sight I had seen in a long time. Jim is my eye candy of the show. I'm sure he probably is yours too. (Ryan, it's okay to admit it.) I didn't know that a man could take a sweater as feminine as this one and make it look sexy. He proved me wrong. I just wanted to share because it made my day brighter. :)

My First Love...

I am about to tell you the story of my first love. It is tender, emotional, and real. This will prove that I too have feelings and emotions

It all started when I was 12 years old. I was introduced to my first love. The Backstreet Boys. This means I have been in love for 15 years. Wow, top that. At first it was just an interest, then it turned into more. From there it very quickly turned into obsession. I own every album, went to every concert in Utah, have the biography of their lives, and until 4 months ago had a backstreet boys video. I gave the video to Kim as a gift to remember our years living together. I felt like it was a huge sacrifice and showed her how much her friendship means to me. She gave the tape to D.I., jerk. When I was 13 I wanted to find Backstreet Boys wallpaper however their was no such thing so instead I made my own. I completely covered my walls in posters cut from those teeny bopper magazines. It was super cool. I even hated, despised, and lothed NSYNC because some people thought they were superior to my boys. There was no real competition though, BBoys were simply better, no arguments about it. I knew all their names (and still do). Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, A.J. McClean, Kevin Richardson, and of course Brian Litrell. In the rebelious days of my life I said I was in love with A.J. but I think that was mostly to freak my parents out because of all his piercings and tattoos. I was really 100% dedicated and loyal to Brian.

Then things got rocky and they sometimes do. We grew apart. I grew up and I moved on. I forgot about the boys and started trying knew things. Sure I would listen to their cd's every now and again. For old times sakes. I even kept a folder of a few really great posters from our times together. Every 6 months I would sometimes google them to see any recent articles about them or news. I was just checking on them. I wanted to make sure they were still alive and doing okay. Even though I didn't completley forget them they were no longer a part of my life.

Then it happened. Three days ago I was just doing my thing on i-tunes when I saw it. Their new cd! I couldn't believe it. I couldnt' resist. I knew it was wrong and that I should stay away but I had no control. I had to at least be curtious to our past love and listen to the samples of their song. Well I listened to one song and then I immediatley downloaded the entire cd. I Listened to the whole thing twice through and started doing my research. I had to know all the knew details. There are now only 4 members of the group and I had to know why Kevin left. I needed to know if they were having a tour, who sang what parts in their songs, etc. I have been a mess ever since. I have to listen to the cd at least twice daily but I try for three. It kills me that I don't know all the words yet to the songs. I'm yet again obsessed. I am a 23 year old female that cannot get over her first music love. Is it wrong? Probably. Is it sad? Yes. Am I pathetic? Most definately. However nothing is gonna stop me now.

If you have seen the movie Music and Lyrics. I feel like all those old lady groupies that followed Hugh Grant's character around to Knottsberry Farms and Highschool reunions. I wouldn't be surprised if I am like that when I am 50+. Still stalking the BBoys. Googling them, checking tour dates, and singing all their songs in the shower. They are unreplacable and they will always be my number 1. I guess it is true that you never get over your first love.

Don't judge me.

The Sullivan Family Populairty Poll Was Rigged...

Well folks, the verdict is in and Katie won the Sullivan Family Popularity Poll with 56 votes and 38% of the total votes cast. I came in a close second with 54 votes and 37% of the total votes cast. Now it is time to be realistic. We all know that Katie and I are not the favorite Sullivan children. We both think we should be and we have very solid arguments on why it is only logical for one of us to be the favorite. However, everyone knows who the favorite is, always has been, and always will be.

The results of this poll were rigged. Ryan called, texted, and talked everyone he knows into voting for him. Sad, he could only find 20 people that like him. Katie made a facebook event for people to vote. Desperate, I know. She got all of her roommates and college neighbors to vote and every time she got on a computer at UVSC she voted for herself. Those two sound sad but really I am the saddest of all. I made the poll on my OWN blog. Lame. I was sure it was going to be a landslide vote for me but then it wasn't so I went as low as Katie and also made a facebook event. I even tried to make it look like I didn't care if I won and told people to vote for me or DJ. I knew people would be more willing to vote for me if I was generous enough to put DJ's name out there for a vote. Sneaky, sneaky. I also voted for myself on various computers I would get on at school, home, friends computers, etc. So Ryan, Katie, and myself had to beg for votes and the truth is that the favorite Sullivan child is:
Dennis John "DJ" Sullivan
Honestly, which one of us could compete with this face?
The saddest part about this whole poll fiasco is that DJ knows he is the favorite and is secure enough that he didn't try to get anyone to vote for him. He doesn't care. The rest of us on the other hand were sneaky, manipulative, and we ended up winning but we didn't fool anyone. Dang, I hate it when that happens.

Taggy Shmaggy

So I've been tagged and this is the deal.
  • List 6 facts/habits about yourself on your blog.
  • At the end of your post, tag 6 friends
  • Visit your 6 friends blogs and leave a comment informing them they have been tagged - let them know they can read your blog for the rules.
  1. I don't really like stuff like this and chain e-mails however I find it IMPOSSIBLE to ignore them. It just eats at me until I break down and do it. Once I even deleted a chain e-mail and it bugged me so bad I asked the person to send it to me again. Sad.
  2. So obviously from the above fact I have some obsessive compulsive tendencies. An example is before I leave work every day I do the same 5 things in the same order and they have to be the last things that I do. Write morning message, write the date for tomorrow, close my plan book and put it in the middle of my kidney table, put homework stickers on the chart, drink the rest of my Mountain Dew. When I finish those things I leave.
  3. I have been into some uncommon music lately. It is a mix of alternative/soft rock/christian stuff. It's pretty random. Some examples are Joshua Radin (fantastic), Corrine Bailey Rae, Colin Hay, Lori McKenna, Annie Lennox, etc. Check them out.
  4. I never set my alarm clocks (I set 3) for a normal time incrament like 6:15 or 6:30. It has to be off a little. My cell phone alarm is set for 6:23, my black alarm is set for 6:11, and my orange alarm is set for 6:34.
  5. I love Diet Mountain Dew. I drink at least one a day but usually two. The funniest part of that is we all know I really can't tell a difference between Mountain Dew and other beverages. It's all in my head.
  6. My new favorite show that I learned about this fall season is Private Practice. This summer I became a Grey's Anatomy fan but I have now moved on. I'm all about Private Practice. You can watch all the past episodes on line. Maybe you should give it a try.

Now I tag Kim, Salem, Emily, Laney, Page, and Jen. Ha!!

Welcome Home Kim!

My one and only Kimberly Ruth Crane has been high-falutin' around europe for the past 26 days. I didn't realize 26 days could drag on for so long! I have very much missed her. I have written 26 reasons why I missed and love Kimba, one reason for each day she was gone. Here we go.

I have missed...

  1. Having somebody to play phone tag with.
  2. Lunch dates/dinner dates with Kim.
  3. Kim and Lindsi days of fun!
  4. Fabulous messages, songs, and rantings on my voicemail.
  5. Someone to watch So You Think You Can Dance, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Prison Break, The Office and more with.
  6. A funny picture taking partner.

  7. Being sarcastic together.
  8. A friend that can and will put up with me 98% of the time (100% of the time is impossible.) It doesn't matter if I'm grumpy, mad, happy, silly, or whatever.
  9. Someone to listen to me talk about each of my 28 students individually, in detail.
  10. Talking on the phone for 1, 2, or even 3 hours.
  11. Crying together.
  12. Discussing every aspect of Meridith and Derek's relationship (Grey's Anatomy) and how it applies to our own personal lives. :) Sad, I know.
  13. Laughing with her.
  14. Not being able to drive to Provo any time I want and see her.
  15. Thursday night, after Jenny, girls nights.
  16. Sleep over parties. Did you know children call them Spend the Nights now? Weird.

  17. Laughing at her. :)
  18. You know when something totally random and hilarious happens and you have to call someone right then so that you don't forget? I have forgotten all those moments this month, my someone has been gone.
  19. Talking boy drama, life drama, or others peoples drama.
  20. Having somebody agree with me. Even though I am probably wrong and being stubborn.
  21. Not needing to write e-mails (she made me promise to write her). I have never been an e-mailing fan. That is why my blogging obsession is intriging.
  22. Her not being here to laugh really hard at me when I dropped my phone in the toilet. She would have appreciated it.
  23. Calling and actually having her answer.
  24. Brian Henderson. They are a package deal. It's a pretty good package.
  25. Having someone who reads all of my blog posts and comments on them all. She appreciates my blog.
  26. Someone being as obsessed with me as I am with them!
So in conclusion, I am obsessed with Kim. I sure am glad she is back in the good old USA and I sure hope she calls me ASAP! Thanks for being my #1 pal! Love ya girl! Peace Out!

Kool-Aid Man

I'm grateful for...

I know it isn't thanksgiving yet but I feel like when life gets you down and in Jackie's words "crap is falling on your head", it is really important to remember all the things one has to be thankful for. So on a serious note here are my current top ten things I am grateful for.

10. Diet Mountain Dew: It takes the edge off. (If you didn't know I'm addicted again.)
9. Cell Phones: I dropped mine in the toilet and it is broken. You don't realize how great something is until you don't have it.

8. Prison Break: A very loserish thing to be thankful for but it takes me away and give me a break for a few minutes. Also, who wouldn't be thankful for Wentworth Miller?

7. The first grade teachers at Park Lane Elementary: I love my team!

6. The couch in my bedroom: It is really great to have a couch in your room to sit on. It's really uncomfortable and old but it is always there just waiting for me. :)

Yes I did take a picture of my couch just for this but I felt it imperative you see the hunk of junk that I hold dear to me. I honestly think this couch weighs 300+ pounds. It is REALLY HEAVY.

5. The 18 first graders in my class that ALWAYS make my job worth it: They help me ignore those other 10 that don't always make my job worth it.

4. Being Drug Free: It was Red Ribbon Week at my school and I am thankful that I can say I am drug and alcohol free. I'm thankful to those people who throughout my life reminded me why I should remain drug and alcohol free and how I can do it. Thanks team! (I still think it might be entertaining to see me drunk because it might be interesting to see if I would be more hyper which is maybe impossible or if I would be mean and depressed. However, we will never find that out.)

***This next part is cheesy and all sentimental. You have been warned.***

3. My friends: I needed you this week and you stepped up to the plate. Especially Jackie, Kim, and Brittney, what fantastic people to have in my life. Thanks girls!

2. My family: I am such a brat to them sometimes and they still stick up for me and care about me more than anybody! Especially my mom: I cry better to her than anybody else.

1. My religion and beliefs: The power of prayer and my loving Heavenly Father. I am thankful every day that I have the truth of the gospel and that I can be guided and directed by the holy spirit. (Can you blog about your testimony? I don't know, but I just did it.)

I finally found it!

You may not have noticed but I have been on the world's largest search for the perfect blog template. I didn't know it was going to be such a huge challenge but it was quite the task. I have had to change my template many times because I am just not content. There were three important requirements for this blog template for it to be perfect for me. 1. It had to be orange. 2. It had to be really cool like me. 3. It also had to be really cute like me. Orange, cool, and cute. Well, all of those three things were really difficult to come by (which shows how rare and unique I am) and the search has been intense. However, I believe I have finally found it! The perfect Lindsi template. Orange, check. Cool, check. Cute, not as cute as me but that is actually impossible so we'll count it, check. The search for the perfect template is over and now I can move on with my life.

Miss Sullivan's Class Says The Darndest Things

That's right team! It is time to find out what the first graders in my classhave been saying lately! I have some good ones!
Disclaimer: Any of the following may not be suitable for the easily offended. If you fit the previous description do not continue reading or remind yourself, these things were said by six year olds.
  • Setting: Teacher and student sitting at the reading table. The rest of the class quietly working at their desks. Teacher: I am going to say two rhyming words. I want you to think of another word that rhymes with those words. Are you ready? Student: Yes. Teacher: can, fan Student: man Teacher: sad, bad Student: had Teacher: hit, fit Student: (in a VERY loud voice) SHIT!
  • Setting: Teacher standing at the front of the classroom teaching spelling. All students looking and listening to teacher (or at least they are supposed to be.) Student: Teacher! I need to tell you something very important. Teacher: Ok, what? Student: (he stands and walks to the front of the room and is now standing next to the teacher with the entire class looking and listening to him. He grabs his crotch and says the following.) You now those two things down there next to my peanuts? Well I have a pointy thing coming out of them and so I have to take some medicine for it. Teacher: Thank you for sharing that very important information with me and the entire class. Student: (smiles) Your welcome.
  • Student: Miss Sullivan! I think you were bit by a vampire! Teacher: Why would you think that? Student: You have two read vampire bite spots on your neck! Teacher: (I feel my neck to find two small zits.) Oh, I don't think it was a vampire bite. Student: No, it is a vampire bite. I would know. I have been bit by a vampire before and so has my Mom! Teacher: Oh, well if you know it is a vampire bite I better call your Mom and ask her for some advice on what to do to take care of it. Student: No! You can't, it was so bad that she doesn't remember anything about it. Teacher: Oh no that is awful. Well am I a vampire now? Student: Yes, you are.
  • Student: Miss Sullivan, are you ever going to get married? Teacher: Well, hopefully someday but I am still young and don't need to get married right away. Student: I asked my Mom how old you are and she said probably 29 or 30. Teacher: Really?! Do you think she is right? Student: No way! I bet you are 40!

That is all for now but I am sure there will soon be more. They are brutally honest at all times which provides me with some great material!

Scooter's Tricks

Scooter does tricks now. We have him trained, kind of like a dog.
Trick #1: Sit in a box and look cute.

Trick #2: TOUCHDOWN!!
We yell touchdown, he throws his arms in the air and then claps! It is so cool! He does it when he is proud of himself too.

Trick #3: Earmuffs
When someone in my family is about to curse (which is EXTREMELY rare) we all say earmuffs. Scooter then covers his own ears. I feel like it is very important for an 11 month old to be able to sensor his family.

Those are his best tricks for now. I will keep you updated. Oh and in case you were wondering... yes he is still bald.

Pick It Up

I've been told I need to pick up the blogging pace. Well, there are at least 3 reasons why I take a while between blogs. 1. I'm too whitty and funny and I don't want to blow all my friends blogs out of the water, so I'm taking it easy. ;) 2. I am just one busy gal. I've got 27 little 6 year old hellians that I'm chasing around all day. I get tired. 3. I'm not all that interesting. I understand that number 3 contradicts number 1. I really have no argument, just know that both 1 and 3 are true. So I apologize for the delays. I have set some goals and created a calendar and timeline for my blogging self and will stick to this strictly because I am so dang good at making calendars and sticking to a schedule. I'm about to pick up the pace!

Car Drama

Last week I had a traumatic experience involving a log, my car, and me being late for work. Due to that experience, I was sure my crazy car problems were done for a while, at the very least done for September. Well, I was wrong. So there I was... driving to work this morning. I was minding my own business, listening to my new Rascal Flatts CD (a must buy) when I heard this weird noise. I ignored it at first because I was so sure that I was done with random car problems. However, the noise got louder and louder. Finally I pulled over and got out to check out the situation. Of course I had a flat tire. Usually when things like this happen to me I get frustrated and kind of ticked but this morning I just thought it was funny. Thinking that I am Superwoman, I collected the car changing equipment and got to work. Now remember that I was headed to school so I am in a skirt, standing on the side of 90th south in Sandy, in the butt freezing cold, the wind is blowing my skirt up, and I've never changed a tire by myself before. (This picture is of me today, helping create a clear visual.)
I get busy on my task and have been working for about 10 minutes and I'm still trying to get the first bold loosened (is it even called a bolt?) when this man walks up. He asked if I had a flat tire and I wanted to tell him, "No, I just had the sudden urge to rotate my tires at 7:30 in the morning on the side of a busy road." I resisted the urge. This awesome man then proceeded to change my tire in literally 4 minutes. It was amazing. He works for GMC and rotates and changes tires all day long. He told me that he was already at work but his boss sent him to get breakfast which has never happened before. He also went a route he has never gone before. He was sent to save my day! What a blessing. When I got back in my car I felt all warm and fuzzy inside and then I was overwhelmed with a feeling of disappointment. I didn't realize it until it was all over but I was really excited to be like Pam on The Office and change a tire all by myself. I wanted to be Superwoman. We all know I probably would not have succeeded on my own and if I did it would have taken me like 2 hours to do it but I just wanted a chance to try. In closing, this better be the end of my car problems for September. If I can't make it 4 more days than there really is something seriously wrong with me.
It might not look unusual but this is the pesky little devil tire. Oh and by the way... it was a nail that caused all the commotion. Cool huh.

Crazy Pictures

I decided to post some of my favorite pictures from the year so far. They make me smile and laugh!

We are going to Mexico, M-E-X-I-C-O!

We didn't really fit in the picture but at least we got DJ's eye and forhead. That's my favorite part of his face anyway.

Yes, my father really does own a Rams pancho from Mexico. It's not just a myth.

Scooter's tongue

"My Kitchen or Yours?" Now that is cool.

Erin and I were really proud of our decorating skills. I don't know if Ashley appreciated it as much as we did!

It's time.

One of my favorite things to do is read other peoples blogs. I seriously enjoy reading about what's going on in my friends and families lives. As I read blogs I always think how it would be fun to have my own, however I feel like my life is so boring that nobody would want to read what I have to write about. Then last week I had a student say something hilarious to me about my clothes at school, a super crazy freak accident car problem, I fell down a flight of stairs, and locked my keys in my car all in one day. That is when I realized that I attract randomness into my life and that I will have plenty to write about. So, now I have a blog. We'll see how it goes. It could be fun.
